St. Cyprian School integrates many different ways for students to learn. One of our traditional favorites is the visit from Windy City, an acting group. This year they came and presented "Robin Hood." The children had a great time being trees and learning about justice in the world and bullying.

The Third Graders had another amazing week! We were able to go on great field trip in which we explored the town of River Grove by visiting the Town Hall, Police Station, Fire Station, and Historical House. Thank you Mrs. Hadley and Mr. Kramaric for coming with us! Then we were able to pay tribute to our First Responders by wearing red and blue and having a prayer service for them!

The Third Graders had a great week. We explored French art by doing shading with fruit baskets, and they reached their first class goal of 250 points, so we ended our week with Fun Choice Friday Afternoon. Students could read, play games, write, draw, or study. We look forward to starting another great week!

One of the Third Graders favorite activities is playing SpellingCity on the Smartboard to review their spelling words. They play sorting, missing letter, and other various games that are interactive. Third Graders are also using ClassDojo to monitor their behavior both positive and areas they need to work on. There are various rewards that students are working toward, one of which being able to read on the rug. Great job to the students who earned that reward so far, I know more students will be joining soon!

The Third Graders took part in Outdoor Education Day on September 7 by going outside with their prayer partners and practiced drawing geometric shapes using chalk. One of their favorite Friday afternoons is learning through centers. The first couple of weeks Center time includes going on the computer and doing IXL and Raz-Kids, working with the teacher, writing, and practicing applying positive social choices by playing "What Would You Do."

The Third Graders held their annual Invention Convention on Friday, and as always, the children were amazing! Not only were their projects very creative and innovative, but I was told by many people that they were impressed by how articulate they were in describing their inventions and persuading others to get their invention. It truly shows how much they have grown throughout the year. They are super-stars!
